CHILDBIRTH OPTIONS SEMINARS - Our Childbirth Options Seminars teach the benefits of natural birth and describe common medical interventions. We share information about options available to expecting parents in Tampa Bay including: hospital birth, free-standing birth centers, licensed midwives, home birth, support from doulas, childbirth education classes and more. For many families this is the first time they learn that they have choices and that they can find what works best for them. These seminars are also a great place for expecting families to meet local birth professionals. We often feature guest speakers including midwives, chiropractors and more.
NETWORKING MEETINGS - We host networking meetings for our members and local birth professionals. Joining these meetings is a great way for local birth workers to build bridges and find support. We have varying locations, themes, guest speakers and demonstrations - just another opportunity for growth and expansion for our members. And of course, that is in addition to just having a good time with like-minded people.
SPEAKER EVENTS - We love having special educational speaker events open to all in our community. It's a great way for parents, birth workers, and more to come together and learn from an expert in our field. In the fall of 2017 we hosted midwife Jennie Joseph, LM, CNM to speak about evidence-based solutions on reducing racial and socioeconomic disparities in pregnancy and birth.
