As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Tampa Bay Birth Network supports and educates in many ways!
AWARENESS - We work to improve awareness of the components of our mission through the social media, print and television outlets. Campaigns have included #MyTampaMidwife and #MyTampaDoula; nomination programs designed to recognize members for excellent client service. We participate in interviews, publish and share articles, memes, videos and other digital content to our growing population of fans.
EVENTS - We host educational, community-based events in support of our mission and principles. These events include the Tampa Birth and Baby Expo, Childbirth Options seminars, Networking meetings, Film viewings and panel discussions.
BIRTH ACTIVISM - In alignment with our mission and principles we support activities that raise awareness, educate and bring about action to improve the standards of birth in our community. We participated in or supported a variety of events and activities such as the Improving Birth National Rally For Change, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, The Big Latch On, family fitness, cloth diapering and other healthy family events.
MEMBERSHIP - We supply local families with a directory of providers that have met with Mother-Friendly standards, agree to be governed by our code of conduct and align with our core principles. Consumers use this directory to select health care providers, purchase services and goods. Providers are able to rely on TBBN to drive sales, resolve grievances and build professionalism in the birth and parenting community.
The Tampa Bay Birth Network is dedicated to raising awareness, the standards of birth and educating our community and will continue to organize and lend our support to activities that forward those aims.
