Polk County Birth Network

This new endeavor has been in the works for several weeks, due to an ever growing need for birth advocacy in our community and it is finally ready to roll out. We are very excited to share and announce the launch of the new Polk County BirthNetwork headed up by Chapter Leader, Sarah Wingrove!

The Polk County BirthNetwork is a chapter of BirthNetwork National, a 501c3 organization. Their mission includes promoting natural birth awareness in the community, and supporting the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative.

Chapter Leader Sarah Wingrove is an experienced mother, registered nurse, certified birth doula, certified lactation counselor, childbirth educator and postpartum doula. On her personal motherhood journey she grew a passion for supporting women during pregnancy, birth and postpartum and has been doing so since April 2013. Her growing birth business and love for working with mothers has led her to become a full time birth worker.

Having a tribe that supports you during the childbearing and mothering years is invaluable.  Sarah recognized the need for a BirthNetwork presence in the Polk county area and took it upon herself to spearhead a local chapter to bring birth advocacy events, resources and activities to the Polk County area.

Let us all support this activity and help make it a success. If you are a birth worker that services the Polk County area we strongly urge you to join the new Polk County BirthNetwork. Become a member and get your business listed on their website by joining here. Share the news with friends and family in the Polk county area so they can follow and participate. Even if you are not a birth worker but are simply interested in supporting the creation of a community of like-minded families and professionals consider joining the network as a supporter and contact Sarah to find out how you can help.

The next Birth Pros networking meeting for Polk County is on December 13th, 2:00 pm at Lakeland Midwifery Care. RSVP on the Facebook event page here!

We couldn't be happier to have a sister network to work with and for what the future holds! Every family deserves to have a positive and empowering birth and postpartum experience. With more shoulders to the wheel providing education and support we can make a difference.
