Mission and Principles
- Educating women and their partners about pregnancy, natural birth and postpartum care so they can be empowered to make personal choices with knowledge and clarity
- Encouraging women and their partners to choose a midwife and/or doula to assist with their pregnancy and labor
- Guiding women toward natural, alternative and complementary care in addition to their regular prenatal and labor care
- Advocating for a reduction in the number of unnecessary medical interventions
- Supporting women and their partners in their new role as parents by offering resources about new parenthood, including breastfeeding, infant sleeping and postpartum care
- Promoting breastmilk for at least the first year, exclusively for the first six months
- Maintaining the Midwives Model of Care as outlined by the Citizens for Midwifery (www.cfmidwifery.org)

President:
Hallie Dedrick, CCCE,CLD
Hallie is a Labor Doula and Childbirth Educator. She is passionate about sharing fact based information with expecting families. Hallie has been an active part of the Tampa Bay Birth Network since the very first meeting. Helping to plan both Natural Birth and Baby Expos, as well as attending as many meetings and events as possible. She is part of the For the Love of Birth group of doulas, and owns her own business, A New Life Begins- Doula & Pregnancy Services which offers doula services, childbirth education. She also also started her own photography business offering birth, maternity, family and event photography. Hallie D Photography. She is the mom of 2 little girls and has experienced first had the benefit of a great childbirth class, doula support, and prenatal care from midwives.

Dr Teri Hohl, DC
Dr. Teri Hohl is an honor graduate from the University of Florida. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic School in Atlanta. She has performed well over 30,000 adjustments on adults and newborns and is proficient in various adjusting techniques. Dr. Teri is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association,Holistic Practitioners Association, and the American Pregnancy Association. She is also certified in the Webster Technique.

Christie Collbran, CLD
Christie is mother and a Certifled Labor Doula. She is part of the For The Love of Birth Labor Doulas, as well as a board member of the group Special Scars - Special Women, an organization that provides awareness and support for women with unusual cesarean incisions. Christie is passionate about educating and supporting women and families through the childbearing years. Niana W. Robinson, ACE
Niana is a Provider Relations Manager for a local medical equipment manufacturer and is experienced in Sales, Graphic and Web Design. She has been an active volunteer of TBBN for two years and is passionate about educating women of their options for their birth and care of their children. Because Niana is not directly involved in the birth industry by trade, she offers a valuable and different perspective to our Network. She is the mother of an amazing little boy born in August of 2008.

Jessica Wilson
Jessica Wilson is a Certified Baby Planner, Certified Green Birth Educator and Certified GreenProofer through the International Maternity Institute. Jessica is the founder of [MOD] momma, Inc. which is a maternity consulting and concierge service for expectant and new families. She is an active member of the International Academy of Baby Planner Professionals (IABPP) and also serves as the Executive Assistant of Business Development at the International Maternity Institute. She currently resides in beautiful Tarpon Springs, Florida with her husband, Rickey, her six year old son, Ethan, her four year old step-son, Landon and her seven month old daughter, Rhys. Abby is a military wife and natural minded stay at homemother of two little boys. She is a strong advocate for birth and parenting without medical intervention. She is part of the TBBN because she believes inthe mission and in what they can achieve.

Our History as a Birth Network
Formed in 2008, Tampa Bay Birth Network was started by a small group of dedicated birth professionals. The network is first of its kind in the Tampa Bay area. Since that time, nearly 60 birth professionals have joined our network so they could provide more resources for their students, clients and patients. Also during that time, hundreds of new and expectant parents have attended our educational monthly meetings and special events, including the area's first Natural Birth and Baby Expo. Our Mission and Principles promise to offer educational materials to new and expectant parents who are interested in a more natural approach to pregnancy and parenting

An exciting development in our on-going growth came in April of 2009 when the TBBN became a Florida not-for-profit corporation. In January 2011, we were approved by the IRS to be certified as a 501(c)(3) organization. This will allow us to apply for grants that can help us offer even more educational programs for pregnant and new parents in the Tampa Bay area.
